Wilf Talbot - Chair
A short statement by Wilf Talbot: Having by choice decided to retire early (56), I readily enjoyed lots of time to myself, doing the things I wanted to do but never having found the time, travelling etc., but as time passed quickly by I began to think that I needed to get involved with something worthwhile and thought of voluntary work. One morning walking through one of the local shopping malls, I came across the Kidderminster Volunteer Bureau, (CAWF) who were canvassing their work. Days later I found myself at their headquarters discussing with a member of their staff various volunteer jobs I could be interested in. From there I was put in touch with Andrea Maddocks, who was just starting a mentoring scheme at BewdleyHigh School and was looking for volunteers. The rest is history as they say, four years on, we are known officially as Mentor Link and have achieved official charitable status. From a personal point of view becoming associated with this very worthwhile cause has opened many doors to me, and I can honestly say I am now enjoying one of the happiest and fulfilling parts of my life. We grow from strength to strength and long may we continue to do so.
