National Mentoring Day

Posted on 27/10/2020

As part of National Mentoring Day on October 27th we are seeking new mentors for Children’s charity Mentor Link and urgently need volunteers for Worcestershire and Solihull

We provide long term one to one social and emotional support to vulnerable and distressed children.  The charity recruits and trains volunteer mentors to listen to and support young people who may be facing difficulties such as illness, low self- esteem, bereavement, family breakdown, self-harm, relationships with others.  Our aim is to create a more positive attitude towards themselves and learning.  The well-being of these young people forms the focus of our work. We are currently recruiting for volunteer mentors – no qualifications are necessary, you just need to be a good listener, and role model with an interest in supporting young people.   Applicants are required to complete an Enhanced DBS clearance, able to commit to a minimum of six months volunteering and spend half an hour to an hour each week with referred children.  Training is provided free of charge and travelling expenses paid. Please contact the office on 01299 822336 or email Karen.Arnold@mentorlink.org.uk or 07875438659
