Blog Post January 2018

Posted on 19/01/2018

Recently the Department for Education announced a new careers strategy outlining their ambitions to create a fairer society and give young people the skills to get on in life. At Mentor Link we believe that giving regular one to one time to young people is essential, particularly if they face challenges or distress in their lives. We also believe that people from the community have an important role to play in providing this support to young people to help them make a successful transition to adulthood and a career. Our volunteer mentoring service works primarily through schools who benefit from having an additional provision in their “ toolbox” in case they face difficulties or delays in securing one to one support.
The role of employers, including those who are self-employed, have a crucial role in our volunteer mentoring service and we are particularly interested to hear from you if you live in the Shropshire (including Telford) area.
