Mentor Link up for Aviva Community Fund

Posted on 27/10/2016

Mentor Link is calling for the support of the local community to help win funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund 2016.

Mentor Link is relying on votes to increase our chances of winning funding of up to £25,000 which we hope will help us support even more children by expanding our provision to further afield in Warwickshire.

The majority of local authorities have been forced to reduce their CAMHS budgets and in some areas cannot provide the support that young people need promptly and at a lower level. This is where Mentor Link is able to help. We now receive weekly enquiries from parents and support workers because of this. £25,000 would enable us to expand our provision of mentoring, both in schools and the community. It would pay for the set-up and associated costs of mentoring for a year for the benefit of 30 young people, with the intention of sustaining the project long term. After set-up costs, the scheme is cost effective: once we are up and running with administration, training and travel expenses the project can run itself.

Only projects with the most votes will become finalists, so additional support is vital.

We would love if you could vote for us, as your vote can help us make a positive difference to the community. If you’re already an Aviva member you can vote straight away, but if not signing up for your 10 free votes will only take a few minutes of your day.

To get behind Mentor Link and help make a difference, visit https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/voting/project/view/16-1336 and submit your vote before 18 November 2016.

Thank you from everyone at Mentor Link. Your votes really could make a difference to the lives of young people.
