On occasion we treat children that we support to an activity that they like and one of our mentees loves horse riding. His mentor Portia also enjoys horse riding so she arranged a lesson and trip to a local yard for him At first he was nervous but soon relaxed and enjoyed the lesson and day out with his mentor.
The young boy faced a difficult start in life and lives with grandad full time and his mentor Portia meets him each week to provide listening and social and emotional support to ensure he stays engaged in his learning.
