Thank you to Ravenhurst

Posted on 05/05/2022

Mentor Link’s vision is a world where children and young people feel valued and supported, and our mission is to provide dedicated support to children and young people.

We have been overwhelmed by good wishes around one story we posted a couple of weeks ago about our Mentor John, and his support for Mentee James.

James, at the age of 3 suffered a life-threatening dog attack which left him with physical as well as mental scars. He has faced abandonment and rejections by those who would normally care for him.

This story triggered a cord and a strong emotional response from a care worker; Bijal at Ravenhurst Care Home after seeing our article. Resident of Ravenhurst Care Home; Daphne won a selection of chocolate goodies, and she wanted to help in some way, so decided to donate the chocolates for James.

We would like to say a BIG “Thank you” to Daphne and Bijal at Ravenhurst Care Home for your kind donation.

Quote from Bijaj –

“Well, hopefully the donation will definitely cheer him up. Slow progress and I’m sure James will get there as he has some amazing support!”

If you can help support a young person like James, we are in urgent need of Mentors for Bridgnorth, Wyre Forest, Hereford, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Evesham and Pershore. Please contact enquiries@mentorlink.org.uk tel. 01299 822336 www.mentorlink.org.uk

We also welcome enquiries from schools, parents, GPs and are always looking for support, so if you know anyone that would like to support Mentor Link, or you may work for a company that raises funds for local charities, please nominate us.
